David Keith Bio
David Keith applies a lifetime of entrepreneurial spirit and marketing experience to everything he does. At 18 years old, he began his own construction business, creating flyers and other marketing materials and promoting his services door to door. This business earned him enough money to pay his way through college at California State University at Sacramento, where he earned a B.A. in Economics.
After college he became interested in environmental economics and was soon hired by Shell Oil Company working in health, safety, and environmental compliance throughout California. After four years, he began working in the marketing arm of Shell Oil, managing small, independent service stations, conceiving and implementing promotions, and overseeing administration and compliance. Soon he was recognized as Employee of the Year. During his time at Shell Oil David worked with hundreds of individuals and business owners, sharing ideas and learning what does and doesn’t work when it comes to marketing and promotions, and, most importantly, learning about the power of relationships in business.
After ten years with Shell Oil, David started another business, K2 Environmental, a company specializing in mold and water damage remediation. Using his experience and innate marketing skills, he doubled his company’s revenues each year for four years. K2 Environmental became known as one of the foremost experts in their field, working closely with national builders, defense contractors, school districts, and some of the largest estates in the region.
In 2006 David signed on with Nu-Designs Web Marketing in Rohnert Park as Vice President of Operations. Though this was a new field for him, he knew business and he knew people. Relying at first on his in-house experts, David again found himself working with small business owners helping to solve their problems. Soon he became Nu-Design’s expert in Google ad campaigns, Search Engine Optimization, and social network implementation for small businesses. He repositioned Nu-Designs as the leader in Drupal technology, a nimble, open-source Web design software platform. Using Social Publishing Systems, Drupal easily integrates a Web site’s content management system with the myriad social networking opportunities available today. David has overseen more than 600 Web site launches or redesigns, including that of the Charles M. Schulz Sonoma County Airport. Working closely with airport management, he helped them to integrate Twitter and blogging, and helped establish Google pay-per-click advertising campaigns in Horizon Air’s destination cities to promote Charles M. Schulz Sonoma County Airport and the Sonoma Wine Country as a destination.
David lives in Santa Rosa with his wife and four children.
