David Keith
Vice President of Operations
David brings 18 years of business leadership to the team. He has a BA from California State University, Sacramento in Economics. He worked 10 years in business and marketing for Shell Oil Company. In 2002, David co-founded and operated K2 Environmental, Inc, a successful construction company in the Bay Area. In 2006, David hung up his tool belt to join Nu-Designs. In 2009, David led the transition of our company into a Drupal Shop. "We feel like a startup again. Drupal is an exciting project to be a part of, and we continue to open doors that weren't available to us before!"
Michele Carter
Sales and Marketing Manager
Michele is the initial point of contact for new clients at Nu-Designs. She emphasizes customized, personal service. “I believe in the talent of each member of the Nu-Designs team,” she said. “If I didn't believe in the products we offer or the skills of the team, I wouldn't be able to sell our services.” If you’ve been thinking about having a new Web site designed, Michele will be there to listen, offer suggestions and show you how Nu-Designs can help. She has many years of experience as a project manager and coordinator and has made a career of sales, sales support and customer service. Michele's offtime passion is creating fused glass art and is an instructor of these classes at the local community center.
Del Morris
Accounting
With all the wacky, creative types here at Nu-Designs, someone has to keep everybody in line. Del is in charge of payroll, accounts receivable and payable and generally keeping everyone's ducks in a row. We'd be lost without him because, frankly, computer-types aren't known for being good at this sort of thing. Friendly and competent, he is always available to help employees or clients with accounting questions or concerns. It's rumored that he never buys erasers or whiteout because he never makes mistakes.
Steve Dozier
Inside Sales
Many of our clients are referrals, but those that are not usually come through our doors after talking with Steve on the phone. He is charged with explaining to the uninitiated why a great web site is so vital to the success of a business. Steve started at Nu-Designs in 2007; he brings 25 years of sales and marketing experience to our table and he doesn't take no for an answer. But he leads a double life as a grandpa and a country western singer. Using his stage name Bubba Stevens he is currently forming his new band Bubba Stevens & Badd Dawg!
Vanessa Knowles
Production Assistant
When you call or visit Nu-Designs you are most often welcomed by Vanessa. She is enthusiastic to help all of our customers and she helps keep their web design projects running smoothly. Vanessa also works on all of our SEO accounts, creating Google AdWord campaigns for our clients. One of her favorite task is adding or editing content and pictures to projects. Vanessa's life is filled with joy from her husband and two children. On her time off she is a Pilates instructor and enjoys reading and dance.
Clyde "Killer" Cowen
Tails and Barketing
When Clyde is not bird-watching out of our window, he's always happy to greet our visitors, tail wagging. His interests are: birds, bones, shadows, a good scratch, and long walks in the park.
Ron Lowe
Founder
Ron Lowe started Nu-Designs in 1995 from his Santa Rosa apartment. Ron has an innate ability (and years of experience) to gauge a Web site’s “usability”, the ease with which a visitor can access information and navigate, and its effectiveness in getting the attention of search engines. Unlike many computer and Web experts, Ron didn’t grow up obsessed with computers. Ron has worked as a grocery clerk, as a farrier/blacksmith, even a professional photographer. Somehow, that history added up to the proficiency that guided Nu-Designs to where it is today. In 2009, Ron retired from day to day operations, but still keeps in touch with the legacy of Nu-Designs that he created.
Jim "Screaming Monkey" Brumm
Independant Copywriter
Jim specializes in helping business owners tell their story. He can hone in on those special qualities that set you and your business apart from the competition and write about them in a way that makes customers want to do business with you. With over 20 years experience in editing, writing and publishing, Jim can write your Web site’s content from scratch, or go in and tweak the existing copy to improve the flow and clarity. When he’s not writing, he’s either reading or playing air guitar. You can often find him and his band, Blacktop Moon, performing at various venues around Sonoma County, where he plays a real guitar.
Nancy "The Hammer" Giovannini
Production Manager & Senior Designer
Nancy has been with Nu-Designs for almost 10 years and has worked her way from web designer to Production Manager. She heads the production team and makes sure every project is completed and our clients are happy. She frequently rides her bike to work from Fulton to Rohnert Park, is a huge San Francisco Giants and pro cycling fan. A music lover, she has over 6,500 songs in her i-pod and hopes someday to reach its capacity of 15,000 at which time her life will be complete. She laughs easily, and loves working with our clients. Nancy has a twin sister and we’re always kind of wondering which one of them is really sitting at her desk.
Quinn Supplee
Senior Programmer
When a customer needs something special or unusual to happen on their Web site, something that requires software and programming that doesn’t come in a box, we call Quinn to make it happen. Quinn is credited with bringing the Drupal revolution to Nu-Designs. A former digital color specialist on DC and Marvel Comics, Quinn studied fine art in college until programming became his first love (besides his two young children). He also co-founded the well-known hosting company MediaTemple. “I love writing programming code,” he said. “It’s like poetry that does something.” Quinn enjoys electronic music and samurai movies.
Brad Cowen
Senior Programmer
Brad has been a programmer since 1995. He has worked at Apple Computer as a Systems Project Programmer, Soltima (a Nokia startup company) as the Lead Web Developer, and in 2008 started working with us. Brad has played a key role in expanding the Drupal capabilities at Nu-Designs and specializes in custom module development. When he's not working, you may find him on a softball field, at a coffee shop, or glued to his iPad somewhere.
Wayne Ingraham
Lead Designer
Wayne brings over 10 years of solid web/graphic design and management to Nu-designs. He wears his multiple skills in Photoshop, xHTML, CSS, Illustrator, Fireworks, Dreamweaver, Flash, JavaScript and icon creation like tools on his personal Batman utility belt. A true renaissance man, Wayne can not only effectively design and build your new Web site, but work first-hand with you to make sure it’s exactly what you want. When nobody’s looking, Wayne likes to perform and teach break dancing. No, really. He owns a DJ business, loves drawing, hiking, music and working on his 1957 oval-window Volkswagen bug.
Pasha "Puffy" Craydon
Web Designer
A designer and front end web developer. Pasha studied graphic design and computer information systems from Humboldt State University before joining the Nu-Designs team. Pasha stresses the details, spends most of his paycheck on expensive typography and tries to be an artist in his free time.
Karl Keefer
Web Designer / Motion Graphics Expert
Karl brings together a unique set of skills that span design and development. He has several years of experience with web design, Flash animation, video production, and motion graphics. Additionally, he has a deep knowledge of development spanning from basic site coding to complex database-driven web applications. Karl speaks German, and can do a backflip from standing still.
